Terms of service
Last updated 2 September 2026
These terms apply when you use Plug, whether you are a shopper looking for something or a vendor selling it. By messaging us on WhatsApp or applying to sell, you agree to them.
Who we are, and what we do
Plug is operated by KERUX8 AGENCY LIMITED, a company registered in Nigeria under CAC registration number RC 9701590.
We are an introduction service. We take a description of what you want, we send it to vendors we have checked, and we show you the ones who can supply it. The contract of sale is between you and the vendor. We are not the seller, we are not an agent of the seller, and we do not own, stock, inspect or deliver any goods.
We do not hold your money
KERUX8 AGENCY LIMITED does not hold customer funds at any point. Escrow is operated by a licensed third-party escrow provider.
When you pay into escrow, you are paying that provider, not us. The funds sit with them and are released by them on the instruction described below. We are not a bank, we are not a payment service provider, and we do not offer any financial service.
For shoppers
- The service is free to you. You pay the vendor for what you buy; you do not pay us.
- A price a vendor quotes is theirs, not ours. We do not set prices and we do not guarantee them.
- We do not promise delivery times. We are not a delivery company and we do not dispatch riders. The vendor delivers in their own way, and you should agree timing with them directly.
- Once we introduce you, your conversation with the vendor is between the two of you. We are not in that chat.
- You must be 18 or over to use the service.
For vendors
- Being listed depends on passing our checks and staying in good standing. It is not permanent, and we may remove you.
- You must respond to requests we send you, even if the answer is that you do not have the item.
- You must deliver what you quoted, at the price you quoted.
- You must never ask a buyer for their handover code before they have the item in their hand. Doing so is grounds for immediate and permanent removal.
- You pay a subscription to receive requests. We do not take a commission on your sales.
- You are responsible for your own tax, licensing and regulatory obligations.
We suspend a vendor account automatically when a vendor ignores three consecutive requests, when more than 15% of their recent orders end in dispute, or on any confirmed case of goods not delivered after payment was released. Suspension pauses new requests while we look into it; removal is permanent.
Escrow orders from ₦50,000
Escrow applies automatically to orders of ₦50,000 and above, and to any smaller order where the shopper asks for it.
- The buyer pays the escrow provider. The vendor is told the funds are secured, and delivers.
- We send the buyer a 6-digit handover code. The code goes to the buyer only. We never send it to the vendor, in any message, at any time.
- The buyer gives the code to the vendor once the item is in their hand. The vendor enters it, we validate it, and the escrow provider is instructed to pay out.
- After five incorrect code entries, the order is locked and reviewed by our team.
Do not give this code to anyone until the item is in your hand. Once you give it, payment is released.
If the buyer will not release the code
A vendor who has delivered but cannot get the code can mark the order as delivered and awaiting the code. That starts a 48-hour window.
If the buyer neither enters the code nor opens a dispute within those 48 hours, the funds are released to the vendor. Silence releases the payment. This exists so that an order cannot be frozen indefinitely by a buyer who simply stops replying — if something is wrong, open a dispute.
Disputes
Either party can open a dispute at any time before funds are released. Opening a dispute freezes the order immediately and stops the 48-hour timer.
- Open a dispute from your order status link, or by messaging us on WhatsApp.
- Both parties are asked for their account of what happened, and for evidence — photos, receipts, chat screenshots.
- Our team reviews it against the order record and decides: release the funds to the vendor, refund the buyer, or split the amount.
- We aim to decide within five working days of receiving evidence from both sides.
- Our decision determines what we instruct the escrow provider to do. It does not remove either party's right to pursue the matter legally.
Disputes are decided on the record of the order. This is why we keep an audit log of every state change, and why the handover code matters.
What we are not responsible for
We introduce buyers to vendors and we operate the escrow and dispute process described above. We do not warrant the quality, safety, legality or fitness of anything a vendor sells, and we are not liable for a vendor’s acts or omissions beyond what these terms set out.
Where we are liable to you, our liability is limited to the value of the order in question. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Ending it
You can stop using Plug at any time; reply STOP to any WhatsApp message and we will stop messaging you. A vendor may cancel their subscription at the end of the current billing period. We may suspend or remove any account that breaches these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
